Shipping and Return Policy

International Customers Shipping via US Mail

Many International customers in an effort to save money choose to have their merchandise shipped via US Mail. Because of the problems some customers have encountered when dealing with international mail, we need to inform you that:

The US postal system is incapable of tracking packages despite their claim otherwise.
The US postal system will charge for insurance but will not pay for any losses or damage.
The US postal system along with your country's postal system can take 3-8 weeks (or longer) for delivery.

To date all packages sent US Mail have been delivered, however some have taken 8 weeks to be delivered.

Images Scientific Instrument Inc., is not responsible for any damages or non-delivery of package, once we ship the merchandise via US Mail under NO circumstances WILL YOU issue a charge back against Images SI Inc. from either your credit card or Paypal account.

Further, Images Scientific Instruments Inc. WILL NOT contact the US Postal system on your behalf. You will be solely responsible for dealing with the U.S. postal system for any tracking of your package or damages.

All international taxes and duties are the resposibility of the customer.

Returns

No merchandise should be returned to Images Scientific Instruments without first obtaining a Return Materials Authorization number. You can receive a return autorization by telephone or email. Read specifications of acceptable returned merchandise below. Any merchandise returned without and RMA number is subjected to a minimum 50% restocking fee.

Returning a DEFECTIVE ITEM

Unless otherwise specified, we accept DEFECTIVE EXCHANGES on products within 30 days of original invoice date. Images SI Inc shall have sole discretion as to the credit method. We may issue a credit, ship a replacement product, exchange or we may repair the item and return it to you.

Manufacturer Restrictions
Some manufacturers have implemented returns restrictions that prevent Images SI Inc from being able to accept returns or offer exchanges, replacements or credits on their products.

Non-Defective Returns
Returns of NON-DEFECTIVE items that are returnable by Images SI Inc. to product manufacturers may, at Images sole discretion, be accepted for return. NON-DEFECTIVE RETURNS MAY BE SUBJECT TO A 25% RE-STOCKING FEE and such returns will be for store credit or refund at Images sole discretion within 30 days of original invoice date. Please call us at 718.966.3694 if you have questions about which products are returnable, which products may be subject to a restocking fee or for an explanation of circumstances under which a restocking fee may be charged.

Software And Consumables
SOFTWARE IS NOT RETURNABLE.

Electronics Kits:

1. DEFECTIVE PARTS:
It's always easy to blame a part for a problem in your kit, Before you conclude that a part may be bad, thoroughly check your work. Today's semiconductors and passive components have reached incredibly high reliability levels, and it’s sad to say that our human construction skills have not! But on rare occasions a sour component can slip through. All our kit parts carry a Warranty that they are free from defects for a full ninety (90) days from the date of purchase. Defective parts will be replaced promptly at our expense. If you suspect any part to be defective, please mail it to our factory for testing and replacement. Please send only the defective part(s), not the entire kit. The part(s) MUST be returned to us in suitable condition for testing. Please be aware that testing can usually determine if the part was truly defective or damaged by assembly or usage. Don't be afraid of telling us that you 'blew-it', we're all human and in most cases, replacement parts are very reasonably priced.

2. MISSING PARTS:
Before assuming a part value is incorrect, check the parts listing carefully to see if it is a critical value such as a specific coil or IC, or whether a RANGE of values is suitable (such as "100 to 500 uF"). Electronics project kits are packed in the USA. If you believe we packed an incorrect part or omitted a part clearly indicated in your assembly manual as supplied with the basic kit, please write or call us with information on the part you need and proof of kit purchase.
A missing component is replaced, it does not qualify the customer to receive any addition benefits or compensation, such as; kit discount(s), free shipping on order, etc. A missing component will be shipped to the customer either by US Mail or ground UPS at the sole discretion of Images SI Inc.

3. FACTORY REPAIR OF ASSEMBLED KITS:
To qualify for factory repair, kits MUST:

NOT be assembled with acid core solder or flux.
NOT be modified in any manner.
BE returned in fully-assembled form, not partially assembled.
BE accompanied by the proper repair fee. No repair will be undertaken until we have received the MINIMUM repair fee (1/2 hour labor) of $25.00, or authorization to charge it to your credit card account.
INCLUDE a description of the problem and legible return address. DO NOT send a separate letter; include all correspondence with the unit. Please do not include your own hardware such as cabinets, knobs, cables, external battery packs and the like. Images Inc., reserves the right to refuse repair on ANY item in which we find excessive problems or damage due to construction methods. To assist customers in such situations, Images Electronics, Inc., reserves the right to solve their needs on a case-by-case basis.

The repair is $36.00 per hour, regardless of the cost of the kit. Please understand that our technicians are paid employees and that set-up, testing, diagnosis, repair and repacking and paperwork can take nearly an hour of time on even a simple kit. Of course, if we find that a part was defective in manufacture, there will be no charge to repair your kit (But please realize that our technicians know the difference between a defective part and parts burned out or damaged through improper use or assembly.)

4. KIT REFUNDS:
You are given ten (10) days to examine our kits. If you are not satisfied, you may call or email for an RMA number to return your unassembled kit with all the parts and instructions and proof of purchase to Images SI Inc. for a full refund. The return package should be packed securely. Insurance is recommended. Please do not cause needless delays, read all information carefully. Kits returned without an RMA number are subject to a 50% restocking fee.

Returning Purchased Items. Images SI Inc. accepts returns for any unaffected development board, programmer, tool, and/or cable within 14 calendar days from the date of receipt of merchandise. After such time, all sales are considered final. "Unaffected" means a device has never been powered up, programmed, or otherwise changed. Images SI Inc. cannot accept returns on purchased items that have had electrical power applied to them, or been otherwise programmed, changed, or affected.

Shipping Limitations. When an order is placed, it will be shipping to an address designated by the purchaser as long as that shipping address is compliant with the shipping restrictions contained on this Web Site. All purchases from this Web Site are made pursuant to a shipment contract. As a result, risk of loss and title for items purchased from this Web Site pass to you upon delivery of the items to the carrier. You are responsible for filing any claims with carriers for damaged and/or lost shipments. You are responsible for paying any import duties and taxes on your order.

Products, Content and Specifications. All features, content, specifications, products and prices of products and services described or depicted on this Web site, www.imagesco.com (this "Web Site"), are subject to change at any time without notice. Certain weights, measures and similar descriptions are approximate and are provided for convenience purposes only.
